We know the Christmas narrative and its many details so well that we often skate through it in a blur of familiarity. However, the events of Jesus’ birth are designed to show us that it is a history-defining event. As we pay close attention to Luke’s account and his particular focus on the angels’ message, we see why this world-changing moment is so significant: God has visited this planet, bringing peace.
