Scripture: Matthew 27:27-37
Matthew 27:27–37 depicts human cruelty at its very worst and divine irony at its very best. Matthew wants us to see the wickedness of human power to inflict such suffering on Jesus and the wisdom of God to use that very suffering to prove that Jesus is the eternal Son of David predicted in Psalm 22.
