The optimism of inevitable human progress can leave Christians feeling awkward—do we really believe we all have evil hearts? But Jesus teaches us that the evidence is clear: the very existence of a saviour shows the world needs saving. However tempting it may be we need to beware of the teaching that says otherwise.
