The presence of evil in God’s world is an undeniable reality. Those who deny the existence of a personal force for evil (Satan) have to live with a contradictory belief system and it leaves them naively open to Satan’s lies. The Christian, however, knows that Satan exists, but is a diminished and defeated enemy. This enables both a mature and rational realism when it comes to evil, but also confident determination to resist the devil.
