What lies behind the love of money is actually a fear of the future. In an uncertain world where we face opposition for confessing Christ, money can quickly become where we turn to for protection and provision. True worship means keeping our lives free from this love of money and instead be content with what the Lord has given us. How is this possible? Only if we put our trust in the one who will never leave us or forsake us.
5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
